MDCU STEPS ONTO GLOBAL STAGE, JOINS PRESTIGIOUS TROPED NETWORK

Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, has achieved a major milestone, officially joining the tropEd Network on September 26, 2025. This certification immediately elevates the Faculty’s status, positioning it as a key regional hub for Global Health Education in Southeast Asia.

This certification ceremony took place at the tropEd General Assembly, held from September 25-27, 2025, at the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Representatives from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, were Associate Professor Parit Mekaroonkamol (Assistant Dean for International Affairs), Professor Padet Siriyasatien (Professor, Department of Parasitology) and Dr. Bumi Herman (Instructor, School of Global Health).

The tropEd Network is a premier international alliance of leading higher education institutions dedicated to providing postgraduate education in International and Global Health. By setting common standards for training, the network actively promotes the mobility of students and lecturers and encourages the interdisciplinary exchange of knowledge among its members worldwide.

Joining tropEd provides significant benefits and opportunities for Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Medicine’s students, faculty, and staff:
