MDCU Strengthens Global Health Alliance: SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute Delegation Explores Medical Innovation and Sustainability in Faculty of Medicine Chulalongkorn University and Thai Red Cross Society
BANGKOK, THAILAND – The Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University (MDCU), through its School of Global Health (SGH), continues to cement its position as a premier international hub for medical excellence by hosting a high-level delegation from the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI), Singapore.
On 9 February 2026, Prof. Naricha Chirakalwasan, Associate Dean for International Affairs and Assoc. Prof. Parit Mekaroonkamol, Assistant Dean for International Affairs of Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, together with Prof. Suttipong Wacharasindhu, Senior Executive Committee of MDCU School of Global Health, welcomed delegations from the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute, Singapore, for academic exchange and knowledge sharing on global health, followed by site visits to Medical Waste Management Facility and Incinerator, Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute (QSMI), and Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society.
Led by Professor Ong Biauw Chi, Group Chief Risk Officer, SingHealth and Lead & Programme Director, Asian Institute for Healthcare Leadership, the visit marks a significant milestone in cross-border academic exchange, focusing on healthcare leadership, environmental sustainability, and emergency preparedness.
Elevating Healthcare Leadership and Strategy The delegation, comprised of senior executives from theExecutive Master in Healthcare Leadership & Management, engaged in a strategic dialogue at the School of Global Health. The session provided deep insights into Thailand’s robust health systems and MDCU’s pioneering role in international public health collaboration.
A Blueprint for Sustainable Medicine Reflecting MDCU’s commitment to the “Green Hospital” initiative – Professor Sarich Chotipanich, PhD, Deputy Director for Facilities Development & Management, KCMH and Colonel Virissorn Wongsrichanalai, MD, Assistant Director for Facilities Management, KCMH welcomed the delegation in the state-of-the-art Medical Waste Management Facility. The visit showcased advanced segregation and upcycling technologies that set new standards for environmentally responsible healthcare operations.
The delegation also visited the Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute, where Professor Emeritus Garnpimol Ritthidej, PhD, Deputy Director of Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute demonstrated snake venom serum production laboratories and learn about production capacity for both domestic use and international export.
Global Preparedness and Disaster Response – The mission concluded at the Relief and Community Health Bureau, Thai Red Cross Society. Welcomed by LT. Gen. Amnat Bali, MD, Director of the Relief and Community Health Bureau, and his team, the delegation explored the Disaster Operation Center, gaining firsthand knowledge of Thailand’s sophisticated emergency relief logistics and disaster management frameworks.
“This collaboration with SingHealth Duke-NUS transcends simple knowledge sharing; it is about building a resilient, sustainable global health infrastructure,” stated the MDCU International Affairs team. “By integrating innovation with public health missions, we are defining the future of medical education and services in Asia and beyond.”

วันที่ 9 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 ศ.พญ.นฤชา จิรกาลวสาน รองคณบดีด้านวิรัชกิจ และ รศ.นพ.ภาฤทธิ์ เมฆอรุณกมล ผู้ช่วยคณบดีด้านวิรัชกิจ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย พร้อมด้วย ศ.นพ.สุทธิพงศ์ วัชรสินธุ กรรมการบริหารอาวุโส สำนักบริหารวิชาการสุขภาพโลก คณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ร่วมต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจาก SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute ประเทศสิงคโปร์ นำโดย Professor Ong Biauw Chi, Group Chief Risk Officer, SingHealth และ Lead & Programme Director, Asian Institute for Healthcare Leadership เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านสุขภาพโลก พร้อมเข้าศึกษาดูงาน ณ คณะแพทยศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย รวมทั้ง สถานเสาวภา สภากาชาดไทย (QSMI) และสำนักงานบรรเทาทุกข์และประชานามัยพิทักษ์ สภากาชาดไทย การศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ คณะผู้แทนยังได้เรียนรู้แนวคิด Green Hospital และการพัฒนาระบบสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน ผ่านการศึกษาดูงาน Medical Waste Management Facility and Incinerator นำเสนอโดย ศ.ดร.เสริชย์ โชติพานิช รองผู้อำนวยการ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย ฝ่ายกายภาพ และ พ.อ.นพ.วิริสสร วงศ์ศรีชนาลัย ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการ โรงพยาบาลจุฬาลงกรณ์ สภากาชาดไทย ด้านบริหารกายภาพ ซึ่งสะท้อนการบริหารจัดการขยะทางการแพทย์แบบครบวงจร ครอบคลุมการคัดแยก การกำจัดอย่างปลอดภัย ตลอดจนการบริหารจัดการขยะที่สามารถนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ในรูปแบบ recycling และ upcycling อันเป็นส่วนสำคัญในการลดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อมและยกระดับมาตรฐานสถานพยาบาลสีเขียว นอกจากนี้ ศ.กิตติคุณ ภญ.ดร.กาญจน์พิมล ฤทธิเดช รองผู้อำนวยการสถานเสาวภา ฝ่ายบริหารและเทคนิค ยังได้เยี่ยมชมสถานเสาวภา (Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute: QSMI) เพื่อศึกษากระบวนการผลิตเซรุ่มจากพิษงู ห้องปฏิบัติการ และศักยภาพการผลิตเพื่อใช้ในประเทศและส่งออกในประเทศแถบยุโรป
ในช่วงท้าย คณะได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมสำนักงานบรรเทาทุกข์และประชานามัยพิทักษ์ สภากาชาดไทย โดยมี พลโท นายแพทย์อำนาจ บาลี ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานบรรเทาทุกข์และประชานามัยพิทักษ์ สภากาชาดไทย พร้อมคณะร่วมต้อนรับ พร้อมรับฟังการบรรยายภารกิจด้านการจัดการภัยพิบัติ การเตรียมความพร้อมด้านสาธารณสุขในภาวะฉุกเฉิน และเยี่ยมชมศูนย์ปฏิบัติการภัยพิบัติและคลังวัสดุช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัย
ความร่วมมือกับ SingHealth Duke-NUS ในครั้งนี้เป็นส่วนหนึ่งในหลักสูตรที่จะเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านสุขภาพโลกที่ยืดหยุ่นและยั่งยืน และการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ระหว่างองค์กรด้านสาธารณสุขระดับนานาชาติ
